Delaware mortgage rates were able to move slightly lower last week from hitting the highest level since August 2012 on Monday. Mortgage bonds were able to bounce off support on Tuesday moved higher to end the week as you can see from the Bond Chart below. Mortgage bonds have a long way to go in order to recover back to levels seen before the big sell-off.
Last week we saw Retail Sales for February 2013 increase by 1.1% which was 0.2% above January 2013 reading. This reading for February was the biggest gain in over five months. Thursday saw weekly initial jobless claims come in much better than expected at 332,000 versus the 350,000 expected. We also saw a read on inflation last week from the Producer Price Index which came in at expectations showing that inflation remains tame. Consumer Price Index came in a little hotter than expected at 0.7% versus 0.5% expected but still within acceptable range for the Federal Reserve.
I am recommending FLOATING your Delaware Mortgage Rate to see if mortgage bonds can continue to rebound higher and move rates lower.
